Why, oh why?

I haven't got time for everything I want to do in my life as it is - so why on earth start a blog? Well, I'm really writing this for me, as I'm sure no-one will find it....
First point - not sure I like the selection of fonts - oh Garamond, where art thou, or even dear Calibri...just feels wrong blogging in Times!

Today - I started a major piece of coursework translation for my MA - in translating, funnily enough - and also ordered the turkey and goose for Christmas. I write my Christmas preparations in a William Morris covered notebook, which the family have still not realised contains all the notes and jottings of ideas I have for presents for them. I also sorted some washing, did some knitting, until the 10 o'clock news proved too soporific, played a few levels on a strategy game - no, _not_ on Facebook!- uploaded photos of family fun last weekend and prepared and taught a private Italian lesson.

I didn't, however, write to two dear friends in Cornwall, who are owed a letter, chat to my daughter on the phone - she's on her way back to home in Germany, so in transit, cook a proper meal - leftovers tonight - or do any sewing. By sewing, I mean patchwork, or possibly quilting, depending on the stage of the project I've reached. Nor did I do any research reading for my essay on the principles of translation, or whatever it's called.

You see why my musings are described as more random than most....
